The saying “A man’s home is his castle” no longer applies to former New York Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter.
Architectural Digest reports that Jeter has enlisted Mansion Global to sell his Greenwood Lake estate in Orange County, which spans four acres. The property was last listed at $6.5 million, significantly reduced from its original 2018 listing price of $14.75 million.
The estate features the 9,000-square-foot, three-story Tiedemann Castle, which boasts battlements, turrets, and a modern interior. Jeter acquired the property through multiple transactions in the early 2000s for $1.6 million and invested approximately $3 million in renovations.
The estate also includes guest, boat, and pool houses, an outdoor kitchen, a lagoon, a dock, and even a replica of the Statue of Liberty, totaling almost 12,600 square feet of living space.
